"When the valley is deep, when the mountain is steep; when the body is weary, when we stumble and fall. When the choices are hard, when we're battered and scarred; when we've spent our resources, when we've given our all..." Beautiful words from an old song ('Press On'). But it seems that when I am hit again by another dart, I usually forget that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him". God is constantly reminding me about his love and commitment to me. No matter what kind of lacks, struggles or giants might come my way, he always carries me through. He always checks in at the right time.
So, who am I to question him, or why am I to fight my own battles? I have come to the conclusion that life is so much better when I let him take total control. As I'm writing this, I am reminding myself to continue singing the song all the way to the end of the chorus: "In Jesus name, we press on. In Jesus name, we press on. Dear Lord, with the prize clear before our eyes, we find the strength to press on." If I replace the word "we" for "I", then I make it a more personal tune. This is my song today. I invite you to add some parts and sing it with me. You too will be reminded of God's stubborn love for you today.
